Softball Recap: Tylertown Comes Up Short

Tylertown came into this matchup off a tough 17-run loss last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Perry Central Bulldogs by a score of 8-6 on Thursday. The Chiefs just can't catch a break and have now endured 11 defeats in a row.

Mar'Keriyah Youngblood made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Ti'Miah (Minnie) Wilson also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Tylertown's loss dropped their record down to 2-17-1. As for Perry Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8-1 record this season.

Tylertown will look to defend their home field on Friday against West Marion at 6:30 p.m. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Chiefs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Perry Central, they are taking a road trip to square off against St. Patrick at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Fighting Irish will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
