Basketball Recap: Kai Mcclain Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Truckee

South Tahoe won the last time they faced Truckee and things went their way on Tuesday too. The South Tahoe Vikings were the clear victor by a 63-42 margin over the Truckee Wolverines. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

South Tahoe's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kai McClain, who went 8 for 16 en route to 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Oscar Mendoza, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

South Tahoe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2024.

South Tahoe has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Truckee, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Tahoe will head out to take on Hug at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Truckee, they are taking a road trip to challenge Wooster at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
