Football Recap: Macon County Tigers vs. Stone Memorial Panthers

It was a proper cat-fight when Macon County took on Stone Memorial on Friday. The Tigers fell 34-27 to the Panthers. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Noah Potter was his usual excellent self, throwing for 315 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76% of his passes, and also rushing for 112 yards and one score for Stone Memorial. Those 112 rushing yards gave Potter a new career-high. Kyle Hinch was Potter's top target, picking up 96 receiving yards and three TDs.

This is the second loss in a row for Macon County and nudges their season record down to 5-2. As for Stone Memorial, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Looking ahead, after each having a week off, Macon County and Barren County will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Stone Memorial, they will welcome Livingston Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
