Basketball Recap: Burton Adventist Academy Angels vs. Heritage Christian Academy Lions
The Burton Adventist Academy Angels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight defeat. They took a hard 64-45 fall against Heritage Christian Academy. Burton Adventist Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Burton Adventist Academy still got an impressive performance from Anaiah Henderson, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine steals. It was the first time this season that Henderson scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Rylie Davis, who scored six points along with two blocks.
Heritage Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addelynn Reid, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Reid has scored at least a third of Heritage Christian Academy's points. Sara Spangler was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds.
Burton Adventist Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Burton Adventist Academy will be playing at home against the Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on the Angels at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
