Basketball Game Preview: Mynderse Academy Blue Devils vs. Penn Yan Academy Mustangs

The Mynderse Academy Blue Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Penn Yan Academy Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Mynderse Academy and 11 for Penn Yan Academy dating back to last season.

Last Monday, Mynderse Academy came up short against World of Inquiry and fell 56-49. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while the Griffins are ranked 86th).

Meanwhile, Penn Yan Academy played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 73-37 defeat at the hands of World of Inquiry. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-11.

Penn Yan Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Mynderse Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Mynderse Academy came up short against Penn Yan Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 44-38. Can Mynderse Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
