New Mexico Military Institute came into Saturday's game looking for another win against Goddard, but Kyle Mesquita wouldn't allow it. The Goddard Rockets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 39-36 victory over the New Mexico Military Institute Colts on Saturday thanks in part to Mesquita, who posted 14 points and six steals. Goddard is 4-2 when Mesquita posts three or more steals, but 4-10 otherwise.

The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Barncastle, who earned ten points. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024.

Goddard's record is now 8-12. As for New Mexico Military Institute, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.

Goddard didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-49 win against Lovington on the 4th. As for New Mexico Military Institute, they have also already played their next game, a 55-46 victory against Ruidoso on the 4th.
