Baseball Recap: Taylor Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

While Taylor put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Lake Mary Prep. The Wildcats blew past the Griffins 14-0. Considering the Wildcats have won seven games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Alex Ramos and Chase Heimbach made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Ramos didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Heimbach tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Ramos scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3, while Heimbach went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Those three hits gave Ramos a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kendall Ganung, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Jacob Santos also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Taylor was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Mary Prep only posted a batting average of .095.

Taylor is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Lake Mary Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Taylor will be playing at home against Trinity Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lake Mary Prep, they will head out on the road to square off against East Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Griffins are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
