Baseball Game Preview: Fridley Tigers vs. Park Center/Columbia Heights/Maranatha Pirates

Fridley hasn't had much luck against Park Center/Columbia Heights/Maranatha recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Pirates at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Fridley didn't have quite enough to beat St. Paul Central and fell 4-2.

Meanwhile, Park Center/Columbia Heights/Maranatha was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against East Ridge, falling 14-4. That's two games in a row now that the Pirates have lost by exactly ten runs.

Park Center/Columbia Heights/Maranatha saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grant Iverson, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. That run marked the first that Iverson has scored this season.

Park Center/Columbia Heights/Maranatha now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Fridley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Fridley might still be hurting after the 13-2 loss they got from Park Center/Columbia Heights/Maranatha in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
