Basketball Recap: Wahpeton Takes a Loss

Wahpeton blew Breckenridge out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Breckenridge got their revenge. The Wahpeton Huskies fell just short of the Breckenridge Cowboys by a score of 57-55. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Huskies came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 32nd in North Dakota, while the Cowboys are ranked 168th in Minnesota).

Wahpeton has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Breckenridge, they moved to 8-7 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Wahpeton will square off against Hillsboro/Central Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Breckenridge, they are taking a road trip to square off against Perham at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Breckenridge is facing Perham at the right time seeing as Perham is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
