Recap: South Dade Buccaneers vs. North Miami Pioneers
The South Dade Buccaneers lost against the North Miami Pioneers back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. South Dade was the victim of a rough 54-30 defeat at the hands of North Miami. South Dade has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why South Dade lost, one person who can't be blamed is Genesis Aguilar. Despite the final result, she scored 25 points.
It was another big night for Jadore Hayes, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 30 rebounds for North Miami. Hayes is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Donnesha Morencey, who dropped a double-double on 15 rebounds and ten assists.
South Dade's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for North Miami, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season.
South Dade is on the road again on Monday and plays Coral Reef on February 5th. As for North Miami, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jackson at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (North Miami has four straight victories, Jackson has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
