Volleyball Recap: Gracyn Groninger Key Part of Team Effort in Quakers Win

After losing to Western Boone the last time they met, Plainfield decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Quakers put the hurt on the Stars with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Quakers.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Plainfield took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-14, 25-13.

Plainfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gracyn Groninger, who had nine digs and two aces. That's the most aces Groninger has posted over her last four matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Donovan, who had 12 digs and one assist.

They weren't the only good servers: Plainfield was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Western Boone only served two.

Plainfield's record now sits at 24-5. As for Western Boone, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.

Plainfield has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Brownsburg on the 18th. As for Western Boone, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Rensselaer Central on the 16th.
