Baseball Game Preview: Hauser Jets vs. Rising Sun Shiners

The Hauser Jets will square off against the Rising Sun Shiners at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Hauser comes in on 12 and Rising Sun on five.

Hauser is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Jac-Cen-Del a 6-0 shutout. The Jets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by six runs or more this season.

Simeon Wasil made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up a single earned run in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

In other batting news, Kameron Blair was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Stryker Gill, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Hauser always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jac-Cen-Del only posted an OBP of .250.

Meanwhile, Rising Sun had just enough and edged out Trinity Lutheran 6-5 on Wednesday.

Hauser's win bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Rising Sun, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.

Hauser took their win against Rising Sun in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-3 score. Will the Jets repeat their success, or do the Shiners have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
