Baseball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Baylor's 12th in Last 13 Outings

Baylor won against McCallie last Tuesday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Red Raiders put the hurt on the Blue Tornado with a sharp 14-4 victory. The Red Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by eight runs or more this season.

Henry Allen tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Rylan Jessee and Mac Morris did most of the damage at the plate: Jessee went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double, while Morris scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That double was Jessee's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emerson Morris, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Baylor was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McCallie only posted a batting average of .259.

Baylor has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for McCallie, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-16.

Coming up, Baylor will host Silverdale Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Red Raiders 3.6, the Seahawks 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for McCallie, they will face off against McMinn County at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
