Softball Recap: Lauderdale County Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lauderdale County can now relate to. They fell 5-2 to the Rogers Pirates on Tuesday. Tigers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Pirates since on Tuesday.

Lauderdale County has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-17 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Rogers, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 18-23.

Lauderdale County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-3 victory against Colbert County on the 29th. Hopefully Rogers paid attention to the Tigers' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Tigers on Tuesday.
