Basketball Game Preview: Kenedy Lions vs. Woodsboro Eagles

Kenedy and Woodsboro are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Kenedy Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Woodsboro Eagles at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Kenedy beat Pettus 56-50. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Meanwhile, Woodsboro had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Three Rivers on Tuesday as Woodsboro made off with a 39-19 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Eagles have posted since November 9, 2024.

Kenedy's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Woodsboro, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 6-19.

Kenedy strolled past Woodsboro in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 53-35. Will Kenedy repeat their success, or does Woodsboro have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
