Football Recap: Smithfield-Selma Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Smithfield-Selma extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-7. They were beaten by the Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs 57-21. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-7.

Noah Jeter threw for 128 yards and one TD. Jeremy Smith was his top target, picking up 73 receiving yards and one score.

As for Southeast Raleigh, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Christian Freeman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 121 yards and four touchdowns on only seven carries. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Smithfield-Selma will head out to take on Fuquay - Varina at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will be up against the Bengals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.14 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Southeast Raleigh, they will square off against Cleveland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Rams have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
