Basketball Recap: Flint River Academy Wildcats vs. Landmark Christian War Eagles

Flint River Academy had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 46-23 to the Landmark Christian War Eagles. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Reagan Riner was Flint River Academy's leading scorer, having posted ten points. Riner also led the team in rebounds with eight.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Landmark Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Charm Husband, who shot 50% from the field on her way to 24 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Those 24 points gave Husband a new career-high. Katie Kinsinger was another key player, putting up seven points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Landmark Christian's victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1.

Flint River Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Rock Springs Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 2. As for Landmark Christian, they have already played their next matchup, a 44-40 win against Lanier Christian Academy on the 15th.
