Preview: Oswayo Valley Green Wave vs. Galeton Tigers

Oswayo Valley is on a four-game streak of home losses, Galeton a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Oswayo Valley Green Wave will take on the Galeton Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Saturday, Oswayo Valley came up short against Sheffield and fell 42-29. Oswayo Valley has not had much luck with Sheffield recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Connor Resig, who scored 11 points.

Meanwhile, Galeton opened the new year with a less-than-successful 52-46 loss to they last Friday.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Braiden Cimino, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. John Martin was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds.

Oswayo Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Galeton, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Tuesday's contest is shaping up to be a scrappy game: Oswayo Valley have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 24.5 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Galeton, though, as they've been averaging only 23.3 rebounds per game. Given Oswayo Valley's sizeable advantage in that area, Galeton will need to find a way to close that gap.

Oswayo Valley took a serious blow against Galeton in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 59-26. Will Oswayo Valley have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
