Basketball Game Preview: San Jacinto Valley Academy Wolves vs. California Military Institute Rough Riders

San Jacinto Valley Academy and California Military Institute are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The San Jacinto Valley Academy Wolves just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the California Military Institute Rough Riders at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. San Jacinto Valley Academy will be strutting in after a win while California Military Institute will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, San Jacinto Valley Academy turned things around against Nuview Bridge on Tuesday. They snuck past the Knights with a 52-47 victory.

San Jacinto Valley Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brayden Hutchinson, who posted 14 points. Those 14 points gave Hutchinson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Steven Abbott, who put up 15 points.

Meanwhile, California Military Institute took a blow against Elsinore on Thursday, falling 62-31. That's two games in a row now that the Rough Riders have lost by exactly 31 points.

California Military Institute has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for San Jacinto Valley Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.

San Jacinto Valley Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over California Military Institute when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 56-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for San Jacinto Valley Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
