Football Recap: Spartanburg Starts Season with Defeat at Home + How To Watch

Spartanburg unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by the Northwestern Trojans 39-7 on Friday. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 20-0.

When it comes to explaining why Spartanburg lost, don't look at Trenton Lynch. Despite the final result, he rushed for 113 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 74 receiving yards.

Quay Mobley was nothing short of spectacular for Northwestern: he rushed for 118 yards and three scores on only 12 carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Mobley a new career-high. Kameron Vance also helped out with an impressive 90 receiving yards.
