Softball Recap: Homewood-Flossmoor Takes a Loss

Homewood-Flossmoor had lost three straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 6-9 to make it four. They lost 11-1 to the Lockport Porters. The Vikings were not able to make up for their loss to the Porters from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Lockport, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games.

For Lockport's part, Taylor Lane was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. Those three runs gave Lane a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Liliana Janeczko, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Homewood-Flossmoor will head out to face off against Lincoln-Way West at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lockport, they will venture away from home to take on Lincoln-Way Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Porters surely won't give up without a fight.
