Baseball Recap: Greenup County Comes Up Short

Greenup County suffered their biggest loss since March 30th on Tuesday. They lost 14-7 to the Raceland Rams. Even though they lost, the Musketeers' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.1 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Kyler Robinson was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since April 1st. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Robinson wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Roy, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Greenup County and nudges their season record down to 13-12. As for Raceland, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

While Greenup County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
