Baseball Recap: Duchesne's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Duchesne walked away with it. They came out on top against the Milford Tigers by a score of 9-5 on Saturday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Duchesne got a big performance out of Rylann Butler, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Butler has become a key player for the Eagles: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-16 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Nashden Goodliffe, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Duchesne kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2025.

Duchesne's win bumped their record up to 8-17. As for Milford, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.

Coming up, Duchesne will face off against American Leadership Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Duchesne's pitchers better be ready for this one: American Leadership Academy has averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. Milford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
