Softball Recap: Cranston West Beats St. Mary Academy-Bay View for Their Third Straight Win

Cranston West put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the St. Mary Academy-Bay View Bengals with a sharp 20-5 victory. For the Falcons, this counts as revenge for the 8-7 win the Bengals walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Mia Sampaio looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nicole Silvestri, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Emma Regine was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Cranston West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .581. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in four consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Cranston West's record is now 3-0. As for St. Mary Academy-Bay View, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
