Erick Dampier Jr., Bryson Howard and Jaxon Richardson headline sons of current, former NBA stars playing high school basketball

Top 20 prospects Tajh Ariza, Dawson Battie, Tai Bell, Obinna Ekezie Jr. and Myles Hayes among others.

The are currently 36 second-generation players in the NBA, including Devin Booker, Jalen Brunson, Stephen Curry, Darius Garland, Jared Jackson Jr., Kevin Love, Domantas Sabonis and Klay Thompson.

That list has the potential to expand in the coming years as LaMarcus Aldridge, Elton Brand, Jamal Crawford, Tim Duncan, Hakeem Olajuwon, Chris Paul, Jason Richardson and Rajon Rondo all have sons playing high school basketball this season.

Currently, 10 sons of current and former NBA players are regarded as top 30 prospects in their class, including Reese AlstonTajh ArizaTai BellErick Dampier Jr.Obinna Ekezie Jr.Bryson HowardJarvis Hayes Jr.Myles HayesJaxon Richardson and Elijah Williams.

Jay Aldridge, Boerne (Texas)
Father: LaMarcus Aldridge, 16-year NBA veteran, seven time all-star and five-time all NBA selection.
Son: Under-the-radar 6-foot-7 junior hopes to break out in the Lone Star State this season.

Reese Alston, Second Baptist (Houston, Texas)
Father: Rafer Alston, 11-year NBA veteran tallied 6,799 points and 3,202 assists in his career.
Son: Regarded as the No. 21 prospect in the Class of 2027, Alston averaged 21.2 points, 5.2 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game last season as a sophomore.

Tajh Ariza, Link Academy (Branson, Mo.)
Father: Trevor Ariza, 18-year NBA veteran and 2009 champion scored 11,593 career points.
Son: Top 20 Oregon signee put up 27 points, 14 rebounds and five assists per contest to earn second team MaxPreps Junior All-America honors at Westchester (Los Angeles, Calif.).

Julius Avent, Bergen Catholic (Oradell, N.J.)
Father: Anthony Avent, six-year NBA veteran tallied 1,958 points and 1,584 rebounds.
Son: Top 100 Michigan State signee tallied 14.5 points and 5.1 rebounds per contest to help the Crusaders capture the Non-Public A state title.

Carter Barnes, Crespi (Encino, Calif.)
Father: Matt Barnes, 14-year NBA veteran and 2017 champion scored 7,589 career points.
Son: Junior guard was a key contributor for the Celts last season, chipping in 11.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.

Isaiah Barnes, Crespi
Father: Matt Barnes, 14-year NBA veteran and 2017 champion scored 7,589 career points.
Son: Twin brother of Carter, Isaiah had a strong sophomore campaign with averages of 13.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.0 steals per outing.

Father: Brandon Bass Sr., 12-year NBA veteran tallied 6,575 points and 3,448 rebounds in his career.
Son: Despite his team's struggles, the four-star Florida State signee put up 20.7 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest as a junior.

Zeke Battier, Providence Day (Charlotte, N.C.)
Father: Shane Battier, 13-year NBA veteran, two-time NBA champion and two-time All-Defensive team selection.
Son: Class of 2027 forward put up impressive numbers in 2024-25, averaging 24.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per game to help the Chargers finish 27-5.



Father: Raja Bell, 12-year NBA veteran tallied 6,998 points and 1,968 rebounds in his career.
Son: Top 20 Class of 2028 prospect was a MaxPreps Freshman All-America honorable mention after tallying 25.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.8 steals per outing.

Jamison Blake, Olympia (Orlando, Fla.)
Father: Steve Blake, 13-year NBA veteran tallied 5,662 points and 3,446 assists.
Son: Junior guard played sparingly on varsity as a sophomore alongside brother Nick, who was a key contributor. His father is an assistant coach for the team.

Ozmel Bowen, Reagan (San Antonio, Texas)
Father: Bruce Bowen, 13-year NBA veteran, three-time NBA champion and eight time All-Defensive team selection.
Son: Through seven games this season, the senior guard is averaging 11.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game at his new school.

Father: Elton Brand, 17-year NBA veteran, two-time all-star, 2006 All-NBA selection and 2000 Rookie of the Year.
Son: Class of 2028 forward is expected to play a key role off the bench for the fifth-year program outside of Philadelphia.

Father: Corey Brewer, 13-year NBA veteran and 2011 NBA champion tallied 7.097 points and 2,287 rebounds.
Son: Regarded as a top 120 prospect in the Class of 2027, Brewer is also a football standout as he hauled in 38 receptions for 479 yards and 10 touchdowns at wide receiver this season.

Father: Matt Carroll, 10-year NBA veteran tallied 3,013 points and 863 rebounds.
Son: Two-sport standout is a junior guard on the basketball court who averaged 10.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game last season. Carroll also had a .310 batting average with 14 runs and 15 RBI's on the baseball diamond.



Father: Mario Chalmers, nine-year NBA veteran and two-time NBA champion tallied 5,743 points and 2,412 assists.
Son: Through three games in his senior campaign, the 5-11 guard leads his team in scoring with averages of 12.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game.

Father: Mateen Cleaves Sr., six-year NBA veteran tallied 609 points and 310 assists.
Son: Sophomore was a key reserve for a St. Mary's (Orchard Lake. Mich.) squad that reached the Division I state semifinals. Top 60 Class of 2028 prospect will spend his sophomore campaign at Dream City.

Father: Mardy Collins, four-year NBA veteran tallied 742 points, 336 rebounds and 327 assists.
Son: Top 10 Class of 2028 prospect was a MaxPreps Freshman All-America honorable mention selection after averaging 9.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists for Christ School (Arden, N.C.).

Father: Will Conroy Sr., three-year NBA veteran piled up 82 assists and 56 rebounds in 36 career games.
Son: Promising freshman scored 23 points in a 96-68 victory over Palisades (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) in his most recent outing.

Father: Jamal Crawford, 20-year NBA veteran and three-time Sixth Man of the Year tallied 19,419 points.
Son: Promising freshman prospect will make his anticipated high school basketball debut Dec. 3 against Renton. The Vikings enter the season with high expectations after top-ranked senior Tyran Stokes joined the fold this fall.

Erick Dampier Jr., Madison-Ridgeland Academy (Madison, Miss.)
Father: Erick Dampier, 16-year NBA veteran tallied 7,309 points and 7,005 rebounds.
Son: Second team MaxPreps Freshman All-America selection averaged 13.5 points, 11.9 rebounds and 2.0 blocked shots per contest after also playing varsity as an eighth grader.

Father: Marquis Daniels, 10-year NBA veteran tallied 4,319 points and 1,552 rebounds.
Son: Averaged 13.8 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game during an impressive junior season that saw him help the Tigers reach the second round of the Class 7A state tournament.



Corey Dixon, Bishop O'Connell (Arlington, Va.)
Father: Juan Dixon, seven-year NBA veteran tallied 3,678 points and 816 rebounds.
Son: Second team All-Washington Catholic Athletic Conference selection with Our Lady of Good Counsel as a sophomore, Dixon joins two-time WCAC champion Bishop O'Connell for his junior campaign.

Father: Quincy Douby Sr., three-year NBA veteran tallied 588 points and 152 rebounds.
Son: Tallied 13.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game as a sophomore with True North Classical Academy (Miami, Fla.) before transferring to three-time defending state champion Riviera Prep.

Draven Duncan, TMI-Episcopal (San Antonio, Texas)
Father: Tim Duncan, five-time NBA champion, three-time Finals MVP and two-time MVP.
Son: Senior forward is a contributor for a squad coached by former NBA player and head coach Monty Williams.

Obinna Ekezie Jr., Southeastern Prep Academy (Orlando, Fla.)
Father: Obinna Ekezie, four-year NBA veteran tallied 510 points and 383 rebounds.
Son: Top 10 Class of 2027 prospect earned third team MaxPreps Sophomore All-America honors last season with averages of 10 points, seven rebounds, three blocks and two assists per game for Prolific Prep (Napa, Calif.).

Father: Monta Ellis Sr., 12-year NBA veteran tallied 14,858 points and 3,856 assists.
Son: Sophomore guard showed promise in his freshman season, averaging 6.1 points and 2.3 rebounds to help the Wildcats reach the second round of the Conference 5A Division 1 state tournament.

Mason Hansen, Springville (Utah)
Father: Travis Hansen, tallied 123 points and 70 rebounds across 41 games in one NBA season.
Son: Senior guard had an impressive start to his final season, tallying 22 points, two rebounds and two assists in an 81-57 victory over Weber (Pleasant View).

Father: Jarvis Hayes Sr., seven-year NBA veteran tallied 3,553 points and 1,330 rebounds.
Son: Top 30 junior prospect was a Class AAAAA all-state honorable mention selection after averaging 13.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest last season.



Myles Hayes, Woodward Academy
Father: Jarvis Hayes Sr., seven-year NBA veteran tallied 3,553 points and 1,330 rebounds.
Son: Top 10 sophomore prospect had a promising freshman season with averages of 7.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per game for the Class AAAAA state finalists.

Deuce Hamilton, Oakwood (North Hollywood, Calif.)
Father: Richard Hamilton, 14-year NBA veteran, three-time all-star and 2004 NBA champion.
Son: Senior is playing at Oakwood after a transfer from Campbell Hall (North Hollywood, Calif.). Hamilton holds Division I offers from Long Island, McNeese State, Oakland and Sacramento State.

Jayden Harrington, New Hampton School (New Hampton, N.H.)
Father: Adam Harrington, tallied 30 points and played in 19 games in one NBA season.
Son: Senior guard is expected to be a go-to guy for the Huskies in the NEPSAC this season.

Kaden House, AZ Compass Prep (Chandler, Ariz.)
Father: Eddie House, 11-year NBA veteran and 2008 NBA champion.
Son: Top 50 Maryland commit led the Dragons in scoring in Nike EYBL Scholastic play last season, averaging 13.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.7 steals per game.

Kalek House, AZ Compass Prep
Father: Eddie House, 11-year NBA veteran and 2008 NBA champion.
Son: Four-star Xavier signee was a standout with AZ Compass Prep as a junior with averages of 8.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 2.6 assists per outing.

Father: Josh Howard, 10-year NBA veteran and 2007 all-star tallied 7,270 points.
Son: Top 15 Duke signee is averaging 22.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.8 assists per contest through six games so far this season.

Sammy Jackson, Roman Catholic (Philadelphia, Pa.)
Father: Marc Jackson, Seven-year NBA veteran tallied 3,238 career points.
Son: Top 60 VCU signee earned second team All-Philadelphia Catholic League honors last season after helping the Cahillites reach the Class 6A state title game.



Cael LaFrentz, Decorah-North Winneshiek (Decorah, Iowa)
Father: Raef LaFrentz, 10-year NBA veteran tallied 5,690 points and 3,423 rebounds.
Son: First team MaxPreps Small Town All-America selection tallied 29.2 points, 12.7 rebounds and 3.7 blocked shots per contest to earn all-state honors as a junior.

Father: Rashard Lewis Sr., 16-year NBA veteran, two-time all-star and 2013 champion.
Son: Sophomore guard is averaging 6.1 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest for a Falcons group that has a 6-2 record on the season.

R.J. Livingston, Riviera Prep
Father: Randy Livingston, 11-year NBA veteran tallied 773 points and 415 assists.
Son: Following an impressive junior campaign that saw him average 21.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 3.0 steals per game for Newman (New Orleans, La.), the Texas State signee is spending his senior year in the Sunshine State.

Julian McKie, St. Joseph's Prep (Philadelphia, Pa.)
Father: Aaron McKie, 13-year NBA veteran scored 5,871 career points and 2001 Sixth Man of the Year.
Son: Promising sophomore guard tallied 6.4 points and 5.8 rebounds per game on the 15U Nike EYBL circuit with Team Final this summer.

Justin McKie, St. Joseph's Prep
Father: Aaron McKie, 13-year NBA veteran scored 5,871 career points and 2001 Sixth Man of the Year.
Son: Sophomore guard joined his brother with Team Final on the 15U Nike EYBL circuit, putting up 5.5 points and 2.7 rebounds per contest during the offseason.

Myles Mobley, Village Christian
Father: Cuttino Mobley, 11-year NBA veteran tallied 11,964 points and 2,902 rebounds in his career.
Son: Promising Class of 2029 prospect has helped the Crusaders get off to a 3-0 start on the season.

Aziz Olajuwon, IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.)
Father: Hakeem Olajuwon, two-time NBA champion, two-time Finals MVP, 1994 MVP.
Son: Following an impressive summer, Aziz rose into the top 60 of the national rankings and signed with Stanford. He averaged 19.9 points and 9.0 rebounds per game as a junior at Fort Bend Clements (Sugar Land, Texas) before his summer transfer.

Malik Olajuwon, Fort Bend Clements (Sugar Land, Texas)
Father: Hakeem Olajuwon, two-time NBA champion, two-time Finals MVP, 1994 MVP.
Son: Despite his team suffering a 59-56 loss to Dickinson in its second game of the season, the promising junior tallied a team-high 23 points.



Isaiah Oliver, Northwest (Waukee, Iowa)
Father: Dean Oliver, played in 35 games and scored 64 points in two NBA seasons.
Son: Committed to Iowa as a preferred walk-on in football, it is unknown whether Oliver will lace them up on the hardwood for his senior campaign or go to campus early.

Chris Paul Jr., Campbell Hall (North Hollywood, Calif.)
Father: Chris Paul, 12-time NBA all-star, six-time steal champion and five-time assist champion.
Son: Sophomore guard looks to help the Vikings duplicate their success from last year after a run to the Division 1 Southern Section quarterfinals.

Leon Powe III, Salesian College Preparatory (Richmond, Calif.)
Father: Leon Powe, five-year NBA veteran and 2008 NBA champion scored 1,484 points.
Son: Senior forward is a key cog for a Salesian team that begins the season ranked No. 25 in the Preseason MaxPreps Top 25.

Adonis Ratliff, Archbishop Stepinac (White Plains, N.Y.)
Father: Theo Ratliff, 16-year NBA veteran, one-time all-star and two-time all defensive selection.
Son: Top 50 USC signee tallied 12.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.5 blocked shots per outing to help the Crusaders to their third straight Class AA City championship.

Darius Ratliff, Archbishop Stepinac
Father: Theo Ratliff, 16-year NBA veteran, one-time all-star and two-time all defensive selection.
Son: Top 40 USC signee played in just 16 games last season while battling injuries, averaging 9.5 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.6 blocked shots per contest to help the Crusaders finish the season ranked No. 24 in the MaxPreps Top 25.

Jaxon Richardson, Southeastern Prep
Father: Jason Richardson, 14-year NBA veteran scored 14,644 career points.
Son: Son of former NBA dunk champion was a key contributor for top-ranked team in the MaxPreps Top 25, averaging 14.1 points and 4.9 rebounds per contest for defending national champion Columbus (Miami, Fla.).



Father: Rajon Rondo, four-time all-star, two-time NBA champion, four-time all-defense and three-time assist leader.
Son: Son of the former Boston Celtics point guard is expected to make his varsity debut as an eighth grader this season.

Zathan Ruffin, North Valley Christian Academy (Phoenix, Ariz.)
Father: Michael Ruffin, nine-year NBA veteran tallied 716 points and 1,632 rebounds.
Son: Averaged 12.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists per contest to help the Lions finish with a record of 21-7 last season.

Father: Josh Smith Sr., 13-year NBA veteran and 2010 all-defense scored 12,996 points in his career.
Son: Although Norcross has dropped to 1-3 to start the season, Smith has shown flashes of potential early in his junior campaign.

Malloy Smith, Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.)
Father: Kenny Smith, 10-year NBA veteran and two-time champion tallied 9,397 points.
Son: Following a junior season that saw him average 6.2 points and 3.5 rebounds per contest, Smith is expected to be in a more prominent role this season as he recorded 12 points and four rebounds in an opening night loss.

Father: Kirk Synder, four-year NBA veteran tallied 1,333 points and 491 rebounds.
Son: Transferred to play at Bishop Manogue for his senior campaign after averaged 8.9 points and 5.8 rebounds per game last year at Sunnyslope (Phoenix, Ariz.).

Bryant Weatherspoon, St. Andrew's Episcopal (Ridgeland, Miss.)
Father: Clarence Weatherspoon, 13-year NBA veteran tallied 10,483 points and 6,846 rebounds.
Son: As a sophomore Weatherspoon put up 2.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game for the Saints.

Jahadi White Jr.East St. Louis (Ill.)
Father: Jahadi White, seven-year NBA veteran tallied 1,954 points and 1,944 rebounds in his career.
Son: Also a defensive lineman on the football field, the 6-7 senior averaged 12.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game last season to help Chaminade (St. Louis) reach the Class 6 title game.

Jamison White, East St. Louis
Father: Jahadi White, seven-year NBA veteran tallied 1,954 points and 1,944 rebounds.
Son: Three-star Penn State pledge tallied 14.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game to guide Chaminade (St. Louis) to the Class 6 title game as a junior.

Elijah Williams, TMI-Episcopal
Father: Monty Williams, nine-year NBA veteran tallied 2,884 points and 1,295 rebounds.
Son: Top 30 Baylor pledge had a strong summer on the Nike EYBL circuit, averaging 18.1 points and 4.8 rebounds per contest.



Mason Williams, Tennessee Collegiate Academy (Millington, Tenn.)
Father: Mo Williams, 13-year NBA veteran, 2016 NBA champion and 2009 NBA All-Star.
Son: Three-star Jackson State commit averaged 13.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per contest to guide Germantown (Madison, Miss.) to its first state championship in program history. Williams will spend his senior year at first year program Tennessee Collegiate Academy.
