Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science's Fifth in Last Six Outings

West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science had won two straight home games and Marx Occes did his part to make it three on Tuesday. The West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science Eagles slipped by the Algoma Christian Knights 64-63 thanks in part to Occes, who went 11 for 14 on his way to 23 points along with eight boards and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last six games he's played.

Despite the loss, Algoma Christian still got an impressive performance from Lucas Bouma, who went 11 of 26 en route to 32 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Bouma is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Rhys Kehoe was another key player, going 5 for 8 on his way to 14 points and five boards.

West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Algoma Christian, with the defeat, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-2.

West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-55 loss against Fellowship Baptist Academy on the 31st. Algoma Christian has also already played their next game, a 70-30 win against Heritage Christian Academy on the 30th.
