Baseball Recap: Baldwin's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Baldwin won against Valdosta last Saturday with three runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Baldwin Indians beat the University Christian Christians by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Indians, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Blake King looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Baldwin's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Maxwell Gallagher, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 5-2. As for University Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Baldwin and University Christian's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Baldwin will face off against Englewood at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, a squad that's only allowed 0.83 runs per game. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Baldwin: 3.9, University Christian: 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Similarly, University Christian and Covenant School of Jacksonville (who has only given up 2.25 runs per game) will meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
