Marquette had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They were the clear victors by  an  11-1 margin over the Houghton Gremlins. The Redmen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by seven  runs or more this season.
 Alex Brennan spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on five hits and racked up eight Ks.
 At the plate,  Jake Toyras and  Easton Jezewski did most of the damage at the plate:  Toyras  went 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases and two  runs, while  Jezewski  got on base  in all four of his plate appearances with two  runs and one  stolen base.  Gib Jezewski was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with one  run and one  RBI.
Marquette pushed their record up to 5-1 with the  victory, which was their third straight  at home.
 Coming up, Marquette will host Alpena  at 2:00  p.m.  on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (the Redmen 3.7, the Wildcats 3.2) so any  runs scored will be well earned. As for Houghton, they will challenge Hancock at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday.
