Basketball Recap: Dunbar Extends Home Winning Streak to Ten

There's no place like home for Dunbar, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past the Woodward Bulldogs 67-47 on Sunday. The Wolverines have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

Dunbar's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jay'Mal Whitfield, who shot 70% from the field to rack up 19 points and five steals. Whitfield has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kevin Jackson, who posted 13 points.

When it comes to explaining why Woodward lost, don't look at Jesse Wallace. Despite the final result, he went 9-for-18 en route to 24 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. Bryce Lively was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 15 boards.

Dunbar pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points over those games. As for Woodward, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.
