The University Wildcats just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Hamilton Yankees at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. University has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 17.
University is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Westchester on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. University was outmatched by Westchester and fell 94-46. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-14.

Loss or not, University got some senior leadership from Kahmron Hill and Orpheu Cummings. Hill went 6-for-10 en route to 16 points, while Cummings went 5-for-8 to rack up 11 points. What's more, Hill also posted a 60% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hamilton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against Los Angeles CES by a score of 59-46 on Wednesday.
University better keep an eye on Michael Gooden. He was instrumental in Hamilton's win, dropping a double-double with 29 points and 11 rebounds. Gooden is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last three games he's played. Garrett Anderson was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.
Hamilton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.
University's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Hamilton, their victory bumped their record up to 11-16.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: University has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30.5 boards per game. However, it's not like Hamilton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.1 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
