Basketball Recap: Appalachian Christian Triumphs

Appalachian Christian won the last time they faced Jefferson Christian Academy and things went their way on Friday too. Appalachian Christian snuck past the Jefferson Christian Academy Cardinals with a 69-63 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for Appalachian Christian.

Marshall Hopkins and Solomon Shirey certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Hopkins went 10-for-16 en route to 24 points and three steals, while Shirey posted 18 points along with eight boards and five assists. Thanks to that strong game, Hopkins now owns an excellent 45.6% field goal percentage. Noah Lee was another key player, putting up four points.

Appalachian Christian's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Jefferson Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 10-16 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Coming up, Appalachian Christian will venture away from home to take on Jefferson Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jefferson Christian Academy, they will welcome Ballard Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
