Baseball Recap: Eight Straight Home Wins for Oakmont

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Buchanan, Oakmont was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Highland Scots 4-3.

Oakmont got a great performance from Jaylan Patterson as he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Patterson has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Oakmont let Beau Ogles and Cooper Kunis run wild. Ogles scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Kunis went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Oakmont's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Highland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-5 record this season.
