 Argenta-Oreana is 10-0 against Cerro Gordo/Bement since April of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Monday. The Argenta-Oreana Bombers will be playing at home against the Cerro Gordo/Bement Broncos at 4:30  p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
 In what's become a running theme this season, Argenta-Oreana gave their fans yet another huge  victory on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Blue Ridge  a   19-0 shutout. Argenta-Oreana's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
  Abby Jackson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  only two  hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Jackson was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news, Argenta-Oreana got a  massive  performance out of  Miriah Powell, who  fired off two  home runs, five  RBI,  and three  runs while going 3-for-4.  Abbey Matthews was another key contributor,  scoring four  runs and  stealing a base while going 4-for-4.
 Cerro Gordo/Bement never got on the board in their matchup on Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Decatur Eisenhower last Saturday. They were the clear victor by  a  15-2 margin over the Panthers.
 Cerro Gordo/Bement also got a great performance from  Vannah Throneburg as she  struck out six batters over  six innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   four  hits. Throneburg has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Haylei Simpson, who  went 3-for-4 with two  triples, three  runs,  and three  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Jillian Durbin, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 4-for-5.
 The  win was  the third in a row for Argenta-Oreana, bringing their record for this year to 7-2. They've been dominating during the  games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 15 runs. As for Cerro Gordo/Bement, their  victory (their first of the  season) made their record 1-7-1.
 Argenta-Oreana took their  win against Cerro Gordo/Bement  in their previous matchup  back in April of 2023 by a conclusive  19-0. Will Argenta-Oreana repeat their success,  or does  Cerro Gordo/Bement have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
