Basketball Recap: Washburn Skates Past Mercer with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mellen, Washburn was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They claimed a resounding 80-29 victory over the Mercer Tigers. That looming 80-29 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Castle Guards yet this season.

Washburn now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Mercer, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Washburn will take on Solon Springs in a holiday battle at at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mercer, they are taking a road trip to challenge Butternut at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
