Basketball Recap: Five Straight Home Wins for Howard

Howard had won four straight home games and Griffin Garner did his part to make it five on Saturday. The Howard Lions took their matchup with ease, bagging an 82-45 victory over the Westminster Owls thanks in part to Garner, who went 9 for 18 en route to 27 points and eight rebounds. His afternoon made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Karl Mortiniera, who posted four points. Those points marked the first that he's scored this season.

Howard's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Westminster, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Howard will square off against Centennial on Friday. Centennial will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Howard surely won't give up without a fight. As for Westminster, they will be playing at home against Manchester Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
