Basketball Game Preview: Magnolia Heights Chiefs vs. Pillow Academy Mustangs

Magnolia Heights is 0-10 against Pillow Academy since January of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Magnolia Heights Chiefs will be playing at home against the Pillow Academy Mustangs at 6:30 p.m.

Magnolia Heights saw some tournament action on Monday. They took a 54-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Walton. The Chiefs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Pillow Academy entered their tilt with East Webster last Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Wolverines by a score of 66-55. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Wolverines are ranked 137th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pillow Academy has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Magnolia Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Magnolia Heights took a serious blow against Pillow Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 54-19. Can Magnolia Heights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
