League recap: Lincoln leads league with four wins since last week

West Valley league recap: 3/20/13

Lincoln had a successful week, as it won four total games to lead the league. The Lions beat San Jose 12-0, the Bulldogs 3-0, Anchorpoint Christian 22-1 and KIPP King 13-3.

Lincoln trails Prospect by just game in West Valley standings, which means there could be a new first-place team by next week.

Andrew Hill boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

18 batters hit over .400 this week. They were led by Tyler Higgins, who hit .800 this week (8-for-10).

The Panthers' Freddy Ruppert led the league in strikeouts this week with nine. He's fourth in the league with ten total strikeouts.



Ruppert led Prospect to a win on March 15, as he notched nine strikeouts to beat the Falcons, 9-2. Over five innings of work, he gave up two hits and one run.

Michael Forney drove in five runners as Gunderson defeated Yerba Buena 29-0 on Friday. He went 2-for-3 and scored two runs.
