Broad Run is 1-9 against Tuscarora since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Spartans will venture away from home to take on the Huskies at 6:30 p.m. Broad Run's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Tuscarora's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Monday just wasn't the day for Broad Run's offense. They fell just short of Briar Woods by a score of 1-0 on Monday.

Anna Weltens spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tuscarora). They put the hurt on Rock Ridge with a sharp 12-2 victory on Thursday. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Phoenix recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Anna Hurst made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Hurst was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Lily Walker looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
Back at the plate, Chloe Wools was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Brileigh Bass, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Tuscarora kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.8 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 10.6.
Broad Run now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Tuscarora, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Broad Run hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Tuscarora struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Broad Run beat Tuscarora 5-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Huskies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
