Basketball Preview: Kit Carson Wildcats vs. Evangel Christian Academy Eagles
The Kit Carson Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Evangel Christian Academy Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Kit Carson is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
On Saturday, Kit Carson came up short against the Wolves and fell 40-30.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Payge Booker-rady, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Avery Johnson, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Evangel Christian Academy waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They managed a 58-53 win over Byers.
Kit Carson's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Evangel Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
Kit Carson beat the Eagles 51-44 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Evangel Christian Academy's Elana Sutton, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. Now that she won't be playing on Monday, will it be that much easier for Kit Carson to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
