Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Thayer Central). They strolled past the Wood River Eagles with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 66-49.

Sam Souerdyke continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 30 points and ten rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Thayer Central's points. Another player making a difference was Laken Wiedel, who posted ten points.

Thayer Central's victory bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Wood River, their loss dropped their record down to 17-8.

Coming up, Thayer Central will head out on the road to square off against Grand Island Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The match will give Grand Island Central Catholic their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. Wood River does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
