Basketball Recap: Milan Comes Up Short

Milan was the 33-32 winner over Rising Sun when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Milan Indians took a 55-36 bruising from the Rising Sun Shiners on Tuesday. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rising Sun was led to victory by Jaylen Peelman and Tamryn Miller. Peelman almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards, while Miller went 7 of 15 on her way to 21 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Peelman a new career-high in boards. Carrigan Friend was another key player, putting up nine points.

Milan's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Rising Sun, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-10 record this season.

Milan has already played their next contest, a 56-12 defeat against Shawe Memorial on the 16th. As for Rising Sun, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 79-42 loss against South Ripley on the 16th.
