Volleyball Recap: Valor Christian Wins High-Profile Matchup Against Overland

Valor Christian faced Overland in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Trailblazers with a sharp 3-0 win. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Trailblazers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

While Valor Christian won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-23, 25-17.

Justin Barwind paced Valor Christian's offense, picking up 16 kills. Barwind got some help from Darren Wright and his 32 assists. Lincoln Jessen controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

When it comes to explaining why Overland lost, don't look at Trevor O'Shea. Despite the final result, he had ten digs and one assist.

Valor Christian's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-3. As for Overland, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-2.
