Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Midway). They claimed a resounding 88-53 victory over the Spring Creek Gators. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Gators: they've now won four in a row.

Harrison Johnson had an outrageously good game as he dropped a double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Wesley Tew, who shot 70% from the field en route to 17 points along with five boards and three blocks.

Midway smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Spring Creek only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Spring Creek lost on Friday, don't look at Hunter Gunn. Despite the final result, he went 6-for-12 to rack up 14 points and four steals. Gunn has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Tristan Pate was another key player, putting up ten points and six rebounds.

The victory got Midway back to even at 4-4. As for Spring Creek, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Midway and West Bladen will round out the year against one another at 8:00 p.m. on the 27th. The Raiders' defense better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 64.9 points per game this season. Spring Creek has already played their next contest (against Eastern Wayne), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
