Basketball Game Preview: Garber Wolverines vs. Pond Creek-Hunter Panthers

The Garber Wolverines will head out on the road to face off against the Pond Creek-Hunter Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Saturday, Garber was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 65-60 to Drummond. The Wolverines have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 61 points the game before, Pond Creek-Hunter was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They took a 23-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dover. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Pond Creek-Hunter's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 11-7. As for Garber, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Garber came up short against Pond Creek-Hunter when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 54-50. Can Garber avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
