Basketball Game Preview: Whitinsville Christian Crusaders vs. Blackstone Valley RVT Beavers

The Whitinsville Christian Crusaders will square off against the Blackstone Valley RVT Beavers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses dating back to last season for Whitinsville Christian and eight for Blackstone Valley RVT dating back to last season.

Whitinsville Christian is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Nipmuc Regional on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Whitinsville Christian had to suffer through a 83-35 loss at the hands of Nipmuc Regional. The Crusaders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-21.

Despite the loss, Whitinsville Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Eamon Moloney posted 18 points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Rainbow, who scored seven points.

Meanwhile, 2025 welcomed Blackstone Valley RVT with a 54-32 loss courtesy of Bay Path RVT on Monday.

Whitinsville Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Blackstone Valley RVT, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Whitinsville Christian won a game that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in February of 2024, slipping by Blackstone Valley RVT 46-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Whitinsville Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
