Basketball Recap: Randolph-Macon Academy Beats Wakefield School for Their Third Straight Victory

Randolph-Macon Academy hadn't done well against Wakefield School recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Randolph-Macon Academy Yellow Jackets walked away with a 29-22 victory over the Wakefield School Fighting Owls. The win was nothing new for the Yellow Jackets as they're now sitting on three straight.

Randolph-Macon Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kay Perry, who posted 12 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Perry has scored at least a third of Randolph-Macon Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Bijou Kebbay, who scored seven points.

Despite the defeat, Wakefield School saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Finley Smith put up 11 points. That's the most points Smith has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Joelle Domfeh, who had six points.

Randolph-Macon Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Wakefield School, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.

As of now, neither Randolph-Macon Academy nor Wakefield School have any future games scheduled.
