Basketball Recap: Marshalltown Comes Up Short

Marshalltown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-39 heartbreaker at the hands of the Grinnell Tigers. The Bobcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Marshalltown's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Grinnell, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-10 record this season.

While Marshalltown had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
