Softball Recap: La Jolla Drops Season-High Score on Hoover

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask La Jolla). They put the hurt on the Hoover Cardinals with a sharp 26-7 victory on Friday. The Vikings have beaten the Cardinals the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cardinals has come to flipping the script.

Jerri Taylor was incredible, getting on base in all six of her plate appearances with six stolen bases, six runs, and two RBI. Those six stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ella Pearl, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles.

La Jolla always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .740. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

La Jolla's win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Hoover, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season.

As of now, neither La Jolla nor Hoover have any future games scheduled.
