Hooks proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the De Kalb Bears 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hornets have posted since August 23rd.

Hooks took De Kalb into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-19, 25-14, 12-25, 15-12.

Hooks is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-8 record this season. As for De Kalb, their defeat ended a six-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-11.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Hooks is set to square off against their familiar foe Liberty-Eylau at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, De Kalb will challenge rival Queen City at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
