Softball Recap: Westlake Has No Trouble Against Rocky River

Westlake's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Rocky River Pirates. The result was nothing new for the Demons, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Cydney Loucka made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Loucka was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Riley Knapp was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Trudy Rocco, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Westlake has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.3 runs. As for Rocky River, their record is now 7-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Westlake is set to square off against their familiar foe Bay at 5:00 p.m. on the 8th. Meanwhile, Rocky River will take on rival Normandy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
